Purpose
The BW LPG Ballast Water Management Policy is to meet the legal requirements for the control and management of ship’s ballast water and sediments and to ensure that handling of ballast water is operated in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
BW LPG vessels are managed through our ship managers who have undertaken to adhere to BW LPG policies.
Policy Statement
- BW LPG vessels shall have on board an implemented and class approved Ballast Water Management Plan.
- The Ballast Water Management Plan is specific to each ship, and is written in accordance with the requirements on International Convention for the Control and Management of the Ship’s Ballast Water and Sediments.
- Ballast water treatment systems installed on board shall be type approved and have certificates readily available.
- For vessels that do not have ballast water treatment, vessels shall conduct ballast water exchange as stipulated by the “International Convention for the Control and Management of the Ship’s Ballast Water and Sediments”
